THROMBIN TIME(TT)

This test detects if you have a problem in your clotting system where a protein called thrombin is unable to convert fibrinogen to fibrin - the final step of clotting. Normally fibrin appears as threads at the site of injury to form the clot and stop the bleeding. If your thrombin time is prolonged , it means that you may have a defect in the formation of fibrinogen or there is deficiency of fibrinogen in your body.
