OSMOLALITY [SERUM]

Osmolality test, serum measures the concentration of dissolved particles in your blood. This test helps to diagnose fluid / electrolyte imbalance in your body. Osmolality increases when you are dehydrated and decreases when there is too much fluid in your blood. Symptoms include frequent need to urinate, diluted urine, dizziness on standing, extreme thirst, low blood pressure etc. You may also have symptoms due to low sodium levels in the blood such as nausea, vomiting, headache, mental confusion, fatigue, cramps & seizures.
