Factor VII is a protein that plays an important role in blood clotting along with other factors. Deficiency of Factor VII is the most common among rare inherited factor deficiencies. Both parents must carry the defective gene to pass it on to their child. This deficiency can cause serious bleeding problems which is out of proportion to the amount of Factor VII deficient in your body. Symptoms can be mild with nose bleed, bleeding from gums, easy bruising & heavy periods. Severe deficiency can cause bleeding in the brain, joints & intestines.
