fever is a disease caused by an organism called Coxiella burnetti which infects humans, cattle, sheep, goat & domestic pets. Humans are exposed to the disease when they come in contact with urine or stool of infected animals.This disease is most common in France & Australia. It mainly affects males more than 15 years of age. Symptoms can be mild flu like or severe with pneumonia. Acute stage of the disease shows IgM antibodies which peak at 3 weeks and then decline. IgG antibodies appear later & can persist for a year. Patients with weak immune systems more commonly develop chronic disease which can affect the heart.
