BRCA 1 & 2 MUTATION

Mutation in BRCA1 & BRCA2 genes can be an inherited/spontaneous change which triggers a protein in your body to send continuous signal to a particular group of cells of breast & ovary to keep dividing. This increases your risk of developing breast or ovarian cancer. Women with this inherited mutated gene have 60-80% chance of developing breast cancer & 33% chance of developing ovarian cancer. However, a positive result does not mean that you will definitely develop cancer.
