MYCOPLASMA PNEUMONIAE IgM

Mycoplasma pneumoniae are bacteria like organisms that cause mild respiratory tract infections. However, some patients can develop serious infections like pneumonia. These germs spread through the air on coughing, sneezing or talking. M. pneumoniae outbreaks occur in crowded areas such as schools, colleges, hostels, hospitals & army barracks. This test is used as an aid in the diagnosis of M. pneumoniae infection. Positive IgM results are indicative of recent infection.
