TOXOPLASMA IgM

Toxoplasmosis is a disease caused by the parasite Toxoplasma gondii. You get infected with the parasite usually by eating undercooked contaminated meat or by exposure from infected stool of cats or mother to child transmission during pregnancy. Symptoms are similar to that of Flu in adults. Children born to infected mothers can be stillborn or can have serious problems such as eye infections & fits. If you have Toxoplasma IgG antibodies in your blood, it is suggestive of past infection.
