LEPTOSPIRA ANTIBODIES IgM & IgG

Leptospira is a bacteria that causes Leptospirosis. This is a zoonotic disease occuring in countries with warm tropical climate. The disease spreads mainly through rodents / rats but can also spread through domestic animals like dogs. Infection spreads to humans through water, food or soil contaminated with animal urine. Symptoms can be mild including fever, headache, fatigue to severe including liver & kidney involvement. This test identifies the presence of IgG & IgM antibodies against Leishmania. IgG antibodies indicate past exposure to the bacteria. IgM antibodies indicate recent infection.
